Kribensis are a beautiful and very popular dwarf cichlid from Western Africa. A peaceful fish, these are a good first cichlid for novice fishkeepers, as they can be kept in most community aquariums. Growing to not more than 10cm long, these can be kept in 60cm/54L tanks although bigger would be better. This specie will tolerate a wide range of conditions with pH levels of anywhere between 6.0 and 8.0. Provide good lighting, lots of plants, with some rocks and wood to hide under if required. Can be kept with most community fish of similar size along other cichlids such as Angelfish, and Keyholes. Feed a mix of flakes, pellets, and frozen tropical foods.
