- TMC UV’s use ultra violet light to destroy the green single-celled water borne algae which make garden ponds murky and unattractive.
- As water is pumped through the unit, ultra violet light from the lamp destroys the algae leaving the water clear.
- With no chemicals being used there is no danger of pollution or over treatment of the water and sensitive plant and pond life is not affected.
- Fitted with 2x germicidal 55w ultra violet lamps which are sealed inside 2x quartz sleeves.
- The transparent end caps make it easy to see if the UV lamp is working.
Installation and important notes:
- Installation, the unit is weatherproof but not waterproof.
- The unit can be positioned either on its base, on a raised surface, or attached horizontally to a vertical surface using the brackets provided.
- It must not be submerged in water or placed in a position where water may collect around the unit.
- If installing the unit prior to or without a filter, it is important that a pre-filter is used on the water pump to prevent excess solids from being pumped into the unit.
- The Pro-Pond 110w can be connected to either flexible or rigid plumbing using the appropriate plumbing fittings (not supplied as each pump varies in outlet size).
- To ensure unrestricted flow, TMC recommend that the unit is not plumbed in with anything not less than 1.5″ pipework.
- To allow you to maintain things like waterfalls and fountains, it can be used for pressurised systems up to 3-bar (43.5psi).
