- TMC UV’s use ultra violet light to destroy the green single-celled water borne algae which make garden ponds murky and unattractive.
- As water is pumped through the unit, ultraviolet light from the lamp destroys the algae leaving the water clear.
- With no chemicals being used there is no danger of pollution or over treatment of the water and sensitive plant and pond life is not affected.
- At the heart of each unit is a germicidal ultra violet lamp, sealed inside a quartz sleeve.
- Transparent end caps make it easy to see if the UV lamp is working.
- All the wires are concealed in an ergonomic, sleek casing for improved water protection.
Important notes:
- Installation, the unit is weatherproof but not waterproof.
- The unit can be positioned either on its base, on a raised surface, or attached horizontally to a vertical surface using the brackets provided.
- It must not be submerged in water or placed in a position where water may collect around the unit.
- If installing the unit prior to or without a filter, it is important that a pre-filter is used on the water pump to prevent excess solids from being pumped into the unit.
Installation:
- Supplied with 2x universal 45° rotating hosetails allow you to easily install flexible or rigid pipework in any orientation.
- The hose tails are suitable to take 38mm and 40mm diameter flexible hose and are easily removeable to disconnect pipework for maintenance in situ.
- This unit may also be fitted to rigid pipe work.
- Rigid 32mm (not supplied) can be attached directly to the inside of the hose tails using a suitable solvent.
- To connect either 1.5” or 2” rigid pipe, first fit a 2” BSP plain to female threaded union (TMC code: 7507 – please ask your local stockist) to the inlet and outlet of the unit.
- To achieve a watertight seal, you will need to use silicone aquarium sealant on the threads and follow the manufacturer’s instructions on curing the silicone sealant.
