Description

Betta Choice Pressure Filter 20L is suitable for a garden pond up to 4000 litres. The filter has been designed to be easy to maintain and easy to hide.

It comes complete, ready to use and comprises of a 20-litre capacity container, with filter materials, accessories, and pipe connections.

Betta Choice Pressure Filter is easy to conceal as it can be partially buried into the ground near the pond. As it operates under pressure, there is no loss in flow rate, making it possible to create water features such as streams or waterfalls.

The filter section has 5 filter levels:

1. Firstly, the water enters the chamber for collecting waste. Through innovative design, large solid waste is deposited in this area in the bottom of the container. When the back-wash system is activated, the accumulated waste is flushed out thus less frequent cleaning will be necessary.
2. Kinshi Sponge, for mechanical/biological filtering. This is a unique filter media is designed for filtering ponds containing large fish such as Koi carp. It is highly resistant to blockage. Its special mesh design allows bacterial colonies to develop and guarantees effective biological filtration.
3. BioGlobe, dedicated biological filter media. These are spherical-shaped and specifically designed to provide the largest surface area for bacterial colonies to flourish, without restricting the water flow.
4. 4&5. Filter Sponges, before returning to the pond, the water is filtered again by 2 layers of filtering sponge, which trap all waste that has escaped the other filtering materials. The large filtering surface of the sponges also allows nitrifying bacteria to develop and carry out additional biological filtering.

The water now returns to the pond, either directly, via a water feature, a stream, or a waterfall. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology the Betta Choice Pressure Filter will keep the water in your pond clean and crystal clear all year round.

Cleaning:

The Betta Choice Pressure Filter is equipped with a Backwash System (water flow inversion), which allows convenient and rapid filter cleaning without having to open or dismantle the filter.

1. The Backwash System is activated by turning a knob to the ‘clean’ position at the top of the filter.
2. The water then goes backwards through the filter, rinsing the filter media, exiting the filter through the waste pipe. The waste pipe water can then be diverted on to your garden or down a drain.
3. Once this done, return the knob to the ‘work’ position.

For deeper cleaning and replacing filter media, the filter container has an Easy Opening and Safe Block device which makes for easier opening and closing, keeping the top of the filter on tight. As the container is hermetically sealed, (the filter works under pressure) the bacteria colonies develop more quickly and more effectively than normal open filters.
